Sandra - A sister of the Artist

When to say a painting is finished..... My sister may never approve this portrait, but I think the likeness is strong and that the painting for me is finished.

Academic Style - A Self Portrait

I painted this self portrait in a Grand Central Atelier online class with Diana Buitrago.

The academic style worked well for me as I am currently studying 19th century art, but I think the background and shirt colors make the portrait more contemporary than neoclassical.

Its great that I have a hobby that I enjoy and can do inside until the Pandemic is over.

Pigeon Trio

This is a composite of faces of a unique model named Pigeon that I created during life drawing class sessions.

She has many looks. I added the pigeon to further identify her.

The Artist Staying Busy during the Corona Pandemic

This portrait with circles was inspired by a previous work, Cotton Picker.

When the corona virus hit I decided the circles were like the virus, all around us.  The shirt and necklace continue the circle virus theme. Everything except my face is covered because there is no escape.

I am smiling because what can you do.  I am glad that painting keeps me busy.
